Const. Tyler Boutilier died of injuries sustained in an on duty motor vehicle accident near Seeleys Bay. Const. Boutilier was a member of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT)and was travelling to a call at approximately 3 p.m. on Highway 15 when his southbound cruiser was struck by a northbound vehicle in the southbound lanes near the Main Street exit. The female driver of the northbound vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries. An adult passenger and two children in the back seat of that vehicle were uninjured.

“Const. Boutilier was a popular and well respected officer. He was a team player who was looked to as a leader”, said Chief Supt. Jay Hope, East Region Commander. “He will be greatly missed by his fellow officers and his community.”

Const. Boutilier leaves his wife Lori Bates. The couple had no children.
