On May 14, 2006 around 2:40 am Cst. Doucet was a passenger in police cruiser. He and his partner were travelling southbound on Black Road. A van was travelling eastbound on McNabb and the two vehicles collided. All three persons were taken to the Sault Area Hospital by ambulance. Cst. Doucet was critically injured and succumbed to his injuries shortly after the collision.
Cst. Doucet was a 12-year veteran member of the Service and was currently assigned to Patrol Services. He is married and is survived by his wife Debbie and his two daughters; 19-year-old Jocelyne and 16-year old Courtney.
