On Thursday February 3, 2011, the Police & Peace Officers’ Memorial Ribbon Society, a registered Canadian charity focused on remembering Canadian police and peace officers killed in the line of duty, will be formally announcing the creation of a Memorial Ribbon scholarship fund to benefit the children of Canada’s fallen heroes. Members of the Society’s Board will be attending the Centre Block of Parliament Hill in Ottawa from approximately 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. EST to make the announcement. The Prime Minister will be in attendance along with Members of Parliament, Senetors, and other special guests. The announcement will be made formally by C. Scott M. Shepherd, the Chair of the Society’s Scholarship Advisory Council.
